A facility can fairly be called a mesothelioma hospice if the staff understands the nature of pleural mesothelioma, which impacts the lungs, or of peritoneal mesothelioma which can create severe gastrointestinal problems. It’s a relatively rare disease so it is critical that the hospice staff understand the nature of the malignancy and its impact in the final stages.
